Stirling Distillery Ranks Among the Top 10 Most Popular Whisky Distilleries in 2024
Stirling, 16th August 2024 — Stirling Distillery is delighted to announce its inclusion in the prestigious list of the “Top 10 Most Popular Whisky Distilleries in 2024,” published by The Spirits Business. This recognition is a significant achievement for the distillery, which has quickly become a standout in the whisky industry since launching its first whisky in 2023, the first time the spirit has been distilled in Stirling for 171 years.
Nestled in the historic Old Smiddy building, Stirling Distillery is celebrated for its handcrafted spirits that honour the rich history and folklore of Stirling. With reintroducing whisky production to the city, the distillery has expanded its range of craft spirits, adding to their well-established award-winning gin range.
There is a special emphasis on using the finest ingredients, sourcing locally and focusing on traditional distilling methods. Their new-make whisky has garnered widespread praise, with industry expert Ben Smith of Whisky and Friends noting, “Caramel and grappa for sure, and I can definitely get behind apple strudel. One of the best new makes I’ve tasted to date, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the spirit matures and responds to different types of wood influence.” At just 18 years old, distiller Hugo McCann has already established himself as a rising talent in the whisky world. Ben Smith added, “His name is Hugo. Hugo McCann. You should write that down. Expect big things.”
