Stirling Distillery set to add spooky twist to Halloween
Hosting spooky gin experiences as part of Stirling SpiritFEST
The team at Stirling Distillery are set to take gin lovers back in time to the dark past of the historic city of Stirling with a series of unique Gin Tasting Ghost Walks this Halloween. On October 28th and October 31st, gin and history lovers alike are invited to join the distillery for this unique experience as part of Stirling SpiritFEST.
Starting with the brand’s bespoke bloody cocktail, guests will get to sample a range of their award-winning spirits before Stirling’s Old Town Jail dives deep into the tales of ancient Stirling and its violent and ghastly history.
Once the capital of Scotland, Stirling has a truly unique – and bloody – past. With its central location as the gateway to the highlands, the city has been built on centuries of battles, old wives’ tales, ghost sightings and much more.
With the distillery itself living in the shadows of Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic buildings with over 900 years of history stored within its walls, the city’s story has served as an inspiration for the distilleries range of products over the last 8 years.
Most notably, the Folklore collection celebrates the haunting tales of the city, including the Green Lady Liqueur which celebrates the story of Mary Queen of Scots’ Lady in Waiting. Her ghost is said to roam the hallways of Stirling Castle after perishing in a fire.
Speaking about the upcoming tours, Event organiser June McCann was excited to have the distillery bring to life the inspiration behind the brand:
“Everyone at the distillery loves the stories of the city around us and you can see from our product range that they’ve been a huge part in the story of Stirling Gin. There’s always something new to learn about Stirling’s past – even our own distillery is housed in a building with over 500 years of history!
It’s a really exciting opportunity for us to be able to bring this history to life during Stirling SpiritFEST, giving visitors a chance to enjoy our products whilst also learning more about the city and the tales written by time.”
Tickets for the event are priced at £28 and available to purchase through the distillery website. The tours form part of the 10-day Stirling SpiritFEST itinerary – a celebration of Scottish spirits across the city this October and November.
