Barrhead Travel announces event with industry leader Wendy Wu as touring bookings increase by 100%

Barrhead Travel sits down with female entrepreneur and industry expert Wendy Wu to discuss this year’s travel trends

The UK’s no.1 travel agent, Barrhead Travel, is inviting customers to its newly opened Gordon Street Store in Glasgow to sit down with touring and adventure travel leader Wendy Wu this June. Guests will learn all about Wendy’s journey through life and business in a sit-down interview with the opportunity to ask their own questions.

Wendy is the founder of Wendy Wu Tours, an award-winning company which offers extraordinary, escorted tours to Japan, China and the Far East, Southeast Asia, India, Sri Lanka, The Middle East, Central Asia, South America and Europe. Having sent her very first tour to China in 1994, Wendy has since become one of the leading figures in the touring industry providing unique travel experiences across the world.

The event will take place on Thursday 22nd June between 6pm-8pm where guests will have access to event-only offers, including up to £200 off per booking, whilst enjoying prosecco and canapes by Glasgow’s Fine Dining Chinese restaurant, Lychee Oriental.

Earlier this year, Barrhead Travel announced the launch of a Touring & Adventure division due to rising demand for experiential travel. According to the group, sales for this type of travel are up over one hundred percent since 2019. With the recent drop in restrictions for destinations such as Japan and China, Barrhead Travel say they expect interest in this region to accelerate.

Jacqueline Dobson, President at Barrhead Travel said; ‘We’re really looking forward to hosting our event with Wendy and for our customers to gain valuable insight into her tours which are renowned for delivering highly authentic and bespoke experiences.

“Escorted touring is a very popular way to explore the world, particularly in regions such as Asia where having the expertise of a knowledgeable guide can really elevate the trip. Post-pandemic, people are even more adventurous when it comes to holidays and are keen to tick off the destinations that they’ve always wanted to visit.”
